Da Hong Pao, Big Red Robe
Big Red Robe / / Da Hong Pao / / Blend 2019
Wuyi Rock Tea or Yancha
Blended Dark Roasted Oolong
From Inner Zhengyan areas, Wuyi Mountains, Fujian Province, China.
This tea is organically grown!
A skilfully blended and balanced oolong bringing together the strengths and characteristics of five cultivar types, all Zheng Yan grown teas: Rougui & Shui Xian provide a strength of body to the tea, Meizhan, Dangui & Huang Meigui to add the very high aromatic quality.
Large twisted dark leaves, charcoal with blueish hints in tone and some that have a tan colour to the leaf. The dry leaf aroma is a strong rounded high tone of citrus fruits. The wet leaf is a delicious oily, slick and dark appearance with a bold high aroma with more floral notes and a stone fruitiness. A thick tea soup, clean golden to warmer red hue that has a smooth mouthfeel with a satisfyingly rounded warmth, strong fruit flavour and classic minerallity of rock teas adding a touch of dryness, a long lasting flavour! We are very excited to offering this excellent Da Hong Pao!
Harvested & Blended in Spring '19 by the Chen Family. The leaves have then undergone a medium bake, 4 times charcoal fire roast, following traditional techniques, carefully and skilfully processed from May~September '19 in Wuyishan.
