Little Tea Bowl By Popalini + Jezando
Little Tea Bowl / / by Popalini + Jezando
Hand Thrown in Devon
Approximate measurements: 4cm tall x 9cm diameter. 50ml.
A tan slipped, soda and wood fired stoneware tea cup, striking in its contrast of colour and form, a truly exquisite piece.
These are really excellent and an ideal size for a gongfu tea session, definitely some of our favourites from the offering this time round. The cup has a short height and form rising into quite a wide bowl for its size. A beautiful and earthy tan slip giving a red oxide colour thats been fully enhanced by wood firing, showing hints and flashes of burnt brown around the lip of the cup, creating a very tactile surface that holds well in the hand.
Popalini & Jezando are a collaborative creative force, with a studio on the Devon/Cornwall border, North Devon. Creating functional hand thrown stoneware pieces that are both contemporary yet steeped in ancient traditions of the area. Often producing pieces that are shown at art exhibitions alongside complementary work by other artists.
Please Note: Each teacup is uniquely individual due to the nature of the handthrown and firing process.
