Black Tea Bowl // by Popalini & Jezando
Hand Thrown in Devon
Approximate measurements: 5cm tall x 11cm diameter. 120ml.
This is a beautifully made, stoneware tea cup, striking in its contrast of colour and form. The clay used is dug and mixed by the potters and consists of a proportion their local red iron clay, with white and ochre seams within, and mixed with other clays.
The form of the cup is low bowl. The dark glaze of mainly matt appearance with some shine giving a very tactile surface and foot to hold well within the hand.
Popalini & Jezando are a collaborative creative force, with a studio on the Devon/Cornwall border, North Devon. Creating functional hand thrown stoneware pieces that are both contemporary yet steeped in ancient traditions of the area. Often producing pieces that are shown at art exhibitions alongside complementary work by other artists.
Please Note: Each teacup is uniquely individual due to the nature of the handthrown and firing process.
