Teapot ~ Chapel Top, by Popalini +Jezando
Chapel Top Teapot / / by Popalini + Jez Ando
Hand Thrown in Devon
This is a beautifully made, stoneware teapot, impressively striking in its contast of colour and form. The clay used is dug and mixed by the potters and consists of a proportion their local red iron clay, with white and ochre seams within, and mixed with other clays. The dark matt glaze they have chosen complements the teapot's minimal aesthetic, the addition of an angular hammered copper handle, sets off this stylish piece.
Popalini & Jezando are a collaborative creative force, with a studio on the Devon/Cornwall border, North Devon. Creating functional hand thrown earthenware pieces that are both contemporary yet steeped in ancient traditions of the area. Often producing pieces that are shown at art exhibitions alongside complementary work by other artists.
Please Note: One off unique piece.
