Wu Dong Honey Orchid, Mi Lan Xiang
Wu Dong Honey Orchid / / Mi Lan Xiang Dancong 2019
Dark Roasted Dancong Oolong
From Wu Dong Mountain, Phoenix Mountains, Wu Dong Village, Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, China.
This tea is organically grown!!
A truely rare tea that has a limited harvest of just 10kg of finished tea produced by Song Lin & family each year!
Dark blueish/grey, tight and lightly twisted leaves with a natural sweet potato aroma. The wet leaves are very aromatic giving a deeper leathery with sweeter honey notes. The tea soup a rich, clear, rose colour. To taste, a complex range of deep leather and good roasted strength, combined with a fruitness and honey sweetness with hints of lychee through multiple infusions, leaving a pleasant dry aftertaste and lasting flavour. As the tea is allowed to cool, flavours become more pronounced. A superb quality Dancong tea!
Harvested in Spring 2019, High mountain grown at over 1000m elevation, picking 2-3 half matured leaves from the wild variety tea bushes of Wu Dong Mountain more than 300 years old, using the most traditional processes by Tea Master Song Lin & family. Sun dried, conditioned room withering, high temperature fixing & rolling, charcoal/carbon baked to dry.
'Dancong' meaning Single Bush, traceable back to a single bush/tree or group of bushes/trees.
