Wave Yunomi (2) by Jack Worpole
Hand Thrown in Cornwall
Approximate measurements: 8cm height x 8cm width. 200ml.

A beautiful footed yunomi, holding nicely in the hand with a decent weight. A balanced form with a gentle flared shape, rounded lip, angular base and high foot ring.

The surface is decorated with a fine linear wave design, providing a textural quality that’s very tactile with a fine grainy feel and soft shine. A lovely warming appearance with the raw clay catching a wealth of flame flashes with rich orange tones.

Inside, a Tenmoku glaze, creating olive green, brownish tones that really highlights the spiral pattern and fine crackle at the base.

One photograph shows Wave Yunomi 1 & 2 together, No. 2 is the darker cup.

Skilfully and carefully crafted from stoneware Cornish clay with excellent form and proportions.

Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size and glaze will occur. Handwash recommended.
