A classic formed footed Tea Bowl skilfully crafted from Cornish stoneware clay and wood fired with an iron coating and soda added during firing. The wider form of excellent proportion, sitting comfortably in the palm of your hand.
The bold, dark iron wash creates a sense of weight and substance to the vessel giving amazing deep purple and burnt umber tones with a soft metallic shine. A smooth, tactile feel to the bowl and in places the soda creates an orange peel texture. This simplistic combination has created an amazing colouration and textural quality. blending and complementing to great effect.
Matt ~ these have a matt surface with a red oxide coloured foot.
Satin ~ These have a soft shine with a purple~grey foot.
Satin (with drips) ~ This one has a soft shine. Many granular flecks with unique drip detail from the lip and a purple~grey foot.
Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size and glaze will occur. Handwash recommended.
