A delightful stoneware mug with hand painted whimsical illustrations of a snake and iris. Blue cobalt oxide painted over a chalky, matt white glaze with a contrasting rusty peach tone inside. Smooth surface with slight texture from the clay.
Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size and glaze will occur. Handwash recommended.
Ceramics for Ella Bua-In has been a full time endeavour since 2019, having previously studied fine art and experimenting with ceramics, combining painting and pots as a form of storytelling. Drawing inspiration from Japanese woodblock prints, medieval art, Roman frescos and the West Welsh landscape. All her designs are truly unique and directly painted on the surface with no initial sketches or outlines. Now residing in Cardigan and working from her home studio, creating tactile and functional pieces for everyday use.
