This large sculptural circular tray serves to elevate and enhance your tea sessions, beautifully crafted from English oak, carefully selected for its quality and the unique details in the grain.

The Japanese technique called Yakisugi or Shou sugi ban in the west has been applied to char the oak, burning emphasises the wood’s unique knots, splits and markings whilst highlighting the beautiful flow of grain. The controlled burning technique also fortifies and protects the wood further from damage.

The charred result creates a lovely tactile surface ~ so full of character, and gives the whole object a striking aesthetic and boldness. Theres an understated beauty throughout this object from the balanced proportions, simplistic style and considered design details.



Designed with a slight elevation so the tray is easy to lift. All finished with a food safe eco hard wax oil that protects the oak and provides a natural matt finish.



pachadesign are Sammy & Glenn, designer makers based in Welcombe, North Devon where they collaboratively work to create beautifully considered interiors and objects from locally sourced reclaimed and sustainable materials. Admiring a simplistic approach to design, balancing paired down aesthetics with a wabi sabi aspect ~ beauty in imperfection.
